There was another Michael Jordan who was CEO of Westinghouse when Michael Jordan was with the Bulls. The CEO Jordan was white.
According to Nathanael Weyl’s books on surnames (which you would enjoy), “Washington” became increasingly black over the generations and by the 1960s four of five Washingtons were black. Perhaps something similar is happening with “Jordan.”
Don’t forget Hamilton Jordan, but pronounced Jerden. He was a good ol’ boy in the Carter administration.
